When we moved into our condo, we inherited black granite countertops. (Note to all: never, never install black granite unless you can live with every little crumb showing up like a beacon in the night.)

Smack dab in the middle of the black granite backsplash were 2 white outlets. We replaced the plate cover, only to realize that the receptacle itself was white. Not wanting to hire an electrician to replace 2 receptacles, we came up with the brilliant idea to paint the receptacles black. As you can see, that didn’t work out too well either because over time, the paint got scratched from plugging in appliances. The answer was on Amazon.  All you do is remove the plate cover, put this over the receptacle and it’s done. It comes in dark brown, white and almond.
