Did you ever wonder why the final paint color on your wall didn’t match the paint chip you chose?

It’s because paint chips are printed, not painted, and why everyone from designers to paint stores recommend testing with real paint. But then you have to buy a quart (or small sample, if available in the color you want), and then start all over if it doesn’t work out.

Enter “Samplize,” an online company that offers 12” x 12” peel-and-stick paint samples made with real paint! Each one costs $5.95 and there is free (and fast) delivery for orders over $15.

You can stick the sample on a wall, then move it to another wall, which is a process we use to check a paint color in different light conditions. By the way, if you are trying to coordinate a paint color with an existing element like a granite countertop, the paint sample should be held perpendicular to it, not placed on top.

Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and (the very expensive) Farrow & Ball are the manufacturers represented in the Samplize collection.
